Become a Volunteer

The goal of the volunteer department is to enrich and extend quality service to clients through the kindness and goodwill of volunteers. If you feel you could fill a position or offer the agency a service please contact us today!

Positions Open:

Friendly Visitor: Volunteers make regular in-home or nursing home visits to offer companionship and support to those who are alone.

Office Assistant: A volunteer works in the office doing various clerical jobs as needed. Some volunteer opportunities would include updating transportation and agency documents or fold and correlate the bi-monthly newsletter. To become a volunteer call or e-mail bcssi@booneseniors.org

Handyman: The volunteer performs minor household repairs at the agency, office, or homes of senior citizens. The volunteer must have knowledge or desire to do minor repairs and have adequate insurance. To inquire about this volunteer opportunity call or e-mail bcssi@booneseniors.org

Fund Raising: Volunteers assist the agency with various fund raiser opportunities. This could involve set-up, tear-down, or assisting with events. To become a fund raising volunteer call or e-mail sshoup@booneseniors.org.

"Day of Caring": Every year in August Boone County Senior Services participates in the community event "Day of Caring." Last year in conjunction with the United Way and Gander Mountain, BCCSI was able to paint two houses and assist in repairs at six homes of elderly people in the community. If you or your organization would like to be a part of this event call or e-mail akolp@booneseniors.org
